The first flagged magazines that take reprints, charge no fees, and pay contributors; the second ranks science fiction and fantasy venues by a decade of award nominations and "best of" anthology placements. This reference ignores submission economics and prestige alike, and documents how each publication works — web platform / CMS, output formats, revenue model, cadence, and editorial identity. Outliers (⚠) are entries that don't really fit the "small literary magazine" mold — corporate SFF, general-interest magazines that publish fiction on the side, and defunct venues — but ride along on the source lists.
